NAGARCOIL: Police has taken a woman into custody for having fake notes worth Rs 50 lakh. The arrested person is Sindhu(37), wife of Palukkal Kodavilakam native Shibu. Police says that Sindhu was running a private financing firm for the last two years in Palukkal. She had also taken away people’s money under the promise of loans. In the meantime, she met and acquainted with Jeralad Jaba who was running a cashew processing factory in Vellamkode.

Sindhu was keeping the notes with Jerald. she told him that the notes are dummy ones used for film shooting which he agreed to keep and she instead told him that loans asked by him will be provided at the earliest. When Sindhu came back yesterday to take back the fake notes, Jerald informed the police. Following this, a police team under S I Mahesh took the woman under custody. Sindhu has told the police that the fake notes were given to her by a film star and shooting has been progressing in Kovalam. She also added that she went to see Jerald to collect the money in order to take it to Kovalam.

Whereas the probe team said that they do not consider her statement as reliable. Thakkala DSP Ramachandran is currently interrogating the accused who is currently under the custody of Arumana police.
