THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA), an organization of government doctors, said the transmission of Covid in Kerala is very severe. The organization in a letter to the chief secretary said as the situation in the state is extremely serious, a two-week lockdown should be imposed.
The rise in number of patients is a danger sign. The letter mentioned that more health workers should be appointed to face the crisis. The KGMOA warned that there are chances for new variants of the virus through mutation to spread through air. Covid hospitals should be kept apart for serious patients only.
Meantime, the Indian Medical Association has come with a demand for a self-declared lockdown in Kozhikode. The proposal comes in the wake of a sharp rise in the number of patients in the district.
