THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 37,199 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 34,587 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2169 cases without an identified source of infection. 330 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 113 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

17,500 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,03,733 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 49 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 5308.
