THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Newcomers will be given more importance in the new cabinet of the LDF government, which has achieved a historic victory by fielding newcomers to replace senior ministers. Discussions on the new ministers in the CPM and the Left Front will begin today.

Most of the prominent people who have the potential to become CPM ministers have won. MV Govindan, K Radhakrishnan, P Rajeev, V Sivankutty, MB Rajesh, KN Balagolal, Veena George, CM's son-in-law Mohammad Riaz and NM Shamseer are likely to be newcomers to the cabinet. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's stance will be crucial in deciding the CPM ministers.

Similarly, the incumbent ministers KK Shailaja and MM Mani, who have recorded huge victories, are sure to be in the new cabinet. Meanwhile, it has to be seen whether the party will give another chance to AC Moideen, KT Jaleel and Kadakampally Surendran.

Xavier Chittilapally, who won a landslide victory over Anil Akkara, is likely to be considered for the minister post.

All CPI ministers are likely to be newcomers. The Kerala Congress (M) is likely to get a ministry and a cabinet rank. Despite making a decisive contribution to the victory of the Front, the party chairman Jose K. Mani, who had to accept defeat, may be considered for a cabinet rank. Roshi Augustine will be in the cabinet from the Kerala Congress.
