kadakampally-surendran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: When there are indications that the CPM is experimenting fresh faces in the second term of the Pinarayi cabinet, who among the winning ministers will be lucky enough to stay in the official residence again? If not a minister again, the official residences will have to be vacated. There is no guarantee for many including ministers of allied parties to become minister again. The non-contestants and the defeated minister will be vacating the house. Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran, a native of the capital city, have already vacated the official residence. There are many waiting to vacate after the list is out. When new ministers are sworn in, the buildings have to be renovated. The renovations will start soon.

Along with Shailaja, A C Moideen likely to be retained
Although the formation of the cabinet was not discussed in the party secretariat meet yesterday, the CPM is keen to have new ministers this time. Relaxations may be given to K K Shailaja and A C Moideen. If the CPI too follows the same formula, the new government will have new faces.

With the LDF to convene on May 17 for discussions on the formation of the cabinet, the swearing-in ceremony will be postponed to two weeks. The state leadership meets will be held on May 18. The swearing in ceremony may happen any time after that. Pinarayi Vijayan's birthday falls on May 24th. The last cabinet was sworn in on the next day of his birthday.
