THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 38460 COVID-19 cases on Friday. Among these, 35,402 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2573 cases without an identified source of infection. 370 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 115 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

26,662 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 4,02,650 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 54 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 5682.

With the addition of 65 new regions, there are 788 hotspots in the state.
