PALAKKAD: Latest reports suggest discrepancies' in the statistics of the number of Covid patients and in the number of Covid 19 deaths. According to the government,, only 15 have died so far this month from Palakkad district. But the records from crematoriums show that more than three times dead bodies were cremated in the district as of now.

Dead bodies from Malappuram, Thrissur and Palakkad are cremated at the crematoriums in the banks of Nila.

According to the statistics from Santhiteeram from in Shornur, the bodies of 63 people who died due to covid 19 have been cremated this month. Authorities from Chandranagar crematorium which is situated inside the Palakkad town, more than 10 dead bodies of people who died of with Covid 19 have been cremated.

In Ivar Matam at Thiruvilwamala, more than 50 dead bodies were cremated and over 10 dead bodies in Chittoor and Elluvancherry. Many including the health workers now allege that the government is not publicising the accurate statistics of those who succumbed to the pandemic.
