THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The allocation of portfolios in the second Pinarayi cabinet has been completed. Instead of K K Shylaja, who was excluded in the last round of talks, Veena George will have the health ministry. K N Balagopalan will be the finance minister. Industries ministry will be held by P Rajeev and R Bindu will have the education ministry.
CPM has made a crucial move this time by allocating important portfolios to youth. CPM has also taken a bold move by distributing even important portfolios with other parties in LDF.
Transport ministry was given to Anthony Raju after 2 years and 6 months, Ganesh Kumar will take up the charge of the transport ministry. Ports and museums were given to Ahammed Devarkovil. Last time, these departments were held by Kadanappally Ramachandran. Kadanapally will get these ministries when Ahammed completes 2.5 years. It is expected that LDF can reconstitute the cabinet if needed without changing the portfolios of other ministers.
The electricity ministry which was held by M M Mani was now given to Janatadal’s Krishnan Kutty. The ministry of forests, which was held by CPI, was given to NCP with their permission.
