The 21-member cabinet headed by Pinarayi Vijayan will be sworn on Thursday. The second coming is one with a bang, because when Pinarayi became the Chief Minister last time, a widely discussed interpretation was that the people gave the CPM a majority because Achuthanandan also contested the elections. The other side of that interpretation was that the people do not like Pinarayi very much. This time there is nothing to say. The people wholeheartedly accepted the strong leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who stood firm and unwavering in his path.
In times of danger, the people want a ruler who will not change his stand according to changing public opinion.
What all were the talks before the election? ED, Customs, Gold, Consulate ... When the election results finally came out, everything was like a line drawn in water.
This is the second time we have got a ruler who can make Kerala the best state in India. Despite the two floods and pandemic, the previous government was able to prepare the groundwork for growth. There are some people living here who have dragged all the successive ministries into controversies and tried to sabotage the development and welfare of Kerala. Even before the swearing-in, those controversial creatures have begun blabbering. None of these controversies can help raise the living standards of the average man in Kerala.
Even with the completion of the National Highway, Kerala will be at the forefront of development. Changes in the transport sector like light metro and semi high speed train will change Kerala drastically. There is no doubt that the new team, which includes Pinarayi, newcomers and old faces in the second innings, will be able to do it. The situation in which Keralites have to depend on other states for change must change. People here need to eat healthy food and live a healthy life. The epidemic has also taught us what changes are needed in the health sector. Based on this, if the government makes modern and humanitarian changes in the health sector, people will be happy to leave private schools and private hospitals and opt for government hospitals and schools.
It is not wrong to say that the party did not include Shailaja Teacher in the cabinet, even though it was justified that faces were not important. However, it was like a blemish.
The cabinet would have shined brighter if there had been Shailaja teacher in the cabinet. This does not mean that those who follow them are not smart. At the same time, for the first time in history, three women were included in the cabinet. Who can say now that there will not be another golden opportunity awaiting Shailaja teacher. We must not overlook the fact that this time we got some talented young people in the cabinet because CPM lost the last parliamentary election. It is important to accept defeat, victory, rejection and reward in a balanced manner. Especially in politics.
Shailaja was not the only teacher left out. MM Mani, who was a good minister was left out. And so on. Even before the election, Thomas Isaac, who can be described as one of the best ministers in the world, and G. Sudhakaran were dropped. But that did not prompt any negative reaction in the election. People value government more than individuals.
Many are joking that CM’s son-in-law has been made a minister. Let no one forget that that son-in-law became the All India President of DYFI before he became a relative. We can only hope that the young man will be able to change his reputation by proving his worth. People need evidence that uplift of their lives is happening. If the CPM cabinet can prove this in the second coming, the same people who are mocking today will applaud tomorrow. At the same time, all ministers must be careful to cultivate humility. We can sincerely hope that the new cabinet will be able to work for the welfare, prosperity and freedom of all people.
