ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the designated ministers reached Alappuzha and paid floral tributes at the Punnapra Vayalar Memorial. In the wake of transmission of Covid, the function lasted only five minutes. The 21-ministers will soon depart to the capital city for the swearing-in ceremony.

The ministers will be sworn in at 3.30 pm and assume power. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan will administer the oath of office at a function held at the Central Stadium. Crucial decisions will be taken at the cabinet meet convened after that.

The function will adhere to Covid protocol. UDF leaders will attend the function online. Instead of holding a simple function at the Raj Bhavan and conducting it at the Central Stadium, the Right Front would send a big message to the public by not attending, said the UDF leaders.
