KOZHIKODE: K Muraleedharan MP demanded a reshuffle in the Congress party at the organizational level. The reason for the poll debacle is that the party lost its base. The high command led the party well but it did not turn as votes here. It is not right to share posts on the basis of groups, he said.
Murali said that he does not want any responsibility. I’ve informed this to the leadership. None in the new cabinet is seen badly. A generational change is needed in the congress. He said that he is ready to give up. I can say only about me, he opined.
Murali said he is not saying anything based on news regarding the opposition leader. A decision in this regard will be taken today or tomorrow. The MLAs will comment on who the opposition leader is. Organizational matters are important now. Then would discuss whether there is a need to change the KPCC chief, he said.
The opposition leader will be in the House when the first session of the new Assembly is held on May 24. No one needs to worry about it. We should think why was the delay in forming the government. The opposition did not attend the swearing-in ceremony because of Covid. If Narendra Modi cannot make a congress-free India then is it possible for Pinarayi Vijayan, asked Muraleedharan.
The poll debacle as seen as a defeat itself. No failure is permanent. A collective action is needed to overcome the crisis. He reminded us that we need wisdom and not emotions.
