THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Along with the opposition leader, the high command is also gearing to overhaul the KPCC leadership. The party sources also say that there will be changes in the KPCC leadership. It is also almost confirmed that Mullapally will be removed from the post of KPCC chief.

High command has expressed its displeasure over Mullapally’s adamant stand on continuing as KPCC chief despite the party’s humiliating loss in the elections. The party leadership has also conveyed a strong message in this regard.

Sources say that Mullapally has informed the leadership of his willingness to resign and he is also responsible for the party’s defeat in the elections. Mullapally has also said that he will fulfil any responsibility bestowed on him by the party.

Talks are going on in the leadership over Mullapally’s successor. Within a month the high command will take a decision in this regard. Sources indicate that there will be changes in the party leadership also and the high command is likely to appoint K Sudhakaran as KPCC president and P T Thomas as UDF convenor.
