THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be heavy rains in the state even on Sunday. Yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki. The Met Office has warned of strong winds and lightning.

Meantime, the low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal will turn into cyclone Yass by Monday and so there will heavy rain in the coming days. Yellow alert has been declared in all seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam tomorrow.
