THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thrithala MLA M B Rajesh has been elected as the speaker of the 15th Kerala assembly. M B Rajesh has secured 96 votes and his contender P C Vishunath was able to get only 40 votes.

M B Rajesh said after the victory that he will uphold the dignity of the speaker's post. I have full faith in democracy and the assembly. Those who are interested in manufacturing controversies will continue with that. The next assembly session will be held on June 28th for the governor’s policy declaration speech.
