THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A mobile app system will be introduced for the public to lodge complaints about damaged roads. Any complaints about damaged roads can be reported directly to the Public Works Department through this app. The app will be available on Google Play Store and Apple Store from June 7.
In the first phase, the service will cover 4,000 km of roads under the public works department. In the next phase, it will be expanded to 7000 km. It will be gradually expanded in the future.
Complaints received through the app will be reported to the concerned road engineers via SMS and e-mail. After resolving the complaint, the information will be updated in the app. Complainants will know the details through the app itself. The app is being developed as part of the Road Maintenance Management System (RMMS) project. This will enable the authorities to identify the roads that need to be repaired and to complete the work within the allotted plan outlay.
