THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lockdown in the state has extended up to June 9. The high-level panel meeting held under the aegis of the chief minister has decided to extend the lockdown by one more week. The centre has asked the state to extend the lockdown until the test positivity rates come down below 10 per cent.
Nod will be given to open shops and other establishments on certain specific days of a week. Mobile and television repair shops, spectacles shops will be open on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Stationery shops that sell notebooks and other items needed for students will be allowed to open.
As the evaluation camps of various exams are going on, the nod for public transport with required regulations will be issued soon. The official order extending the lockdown and other relaxations will be declared by the chief minister in the press conference to be held today evening.
