KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress(M) leader Jose K Mani has said that LDF had vowed to protect Mani C Kappan if he had given up the Pala seat for Kerala Congress. “LDF’s nature is to protect those who do similar political favours to them. But Kappan rejected the offer as he had already made a pact with UDF,” Jose Ka Mani said during an interview with a media outlet.

“He also said that he knew winning from Pala was a challenge. Even after having that realisation, I took the political decision to contest from Pala. People close to me had advised me to take up a safer constituency,” he said.

Many Congress leaders have expressed interest to join Kerala Congress. Even certain unexpected leaders have expressed willingness to join the party. Those in Joseph's group have also agreed to come back. The party will adopt a cadre nature in due course of time.

Earlier media reports have surfaced indicating that Kerala Congress(M) might adopt the levy system seen in CPI and CPM. Jose K Mani has decided to relaunch his party with cadre nature in order to prevent the defection of party men.
