NEW DELHI: Describing the budget as 'disappointment', senior BJP leader and union minister V Muraleedharan said it was an eyewash to cheat people.

The Rs 20,000 crore Covid package and Rs 11,000 crore coastal development package were just announcements, he alleged in New Delhi.

'How can the state government, which has to borrow Rs 1000 crore to pay salaries and pensions, implement the special package of Rs 20,000 crore? The allocation of Rs 11,000 crore for the coastal regions was in fact a mockery of the people who are in dire straits,' he wrote on his Facebook page.
