KOCHI: The investigation team has collected the voice sample of the accused Ravi Pujari in connection with the Kochi beauty parlour shooting case. The voice sample was collected on Saturday afternoon after taking Pujari to the Kakkanad All India Radio station. The voice samples were collected in the presence of experts in addition to the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officials. The group spent about three hours here. The sample will be handed over for scientific examination after presenting it before the trial court tomorrow.
The team left Nedumbassery for Kakkanad with Pujari after completing the interrogation under the supervision of the investigating officer in the morning. He was secretly brought to All India Radio with utmost security. After completing the formalities, the team returned to the Nedumbassery ATS headquarters at 5.30 pm. The interrogation continued after this.
Pujari's voice sample was earlier collected by the crime branch from Bangalore. The voice sample collected on Saturday will be compared with this. Steps have been taken to get the test results quickly.
Ravi Pujari used goons from Kasargod to attack the beauty parlour. During interrogation, Ravi Pujari revealed to the police that Kasargode goonda leader Jia had asked to threaten Leena Maria Paul for money. According to reports, Ravi Pujari said that Jia had provided local assistance for the attack as the actress was not willing to pay even after the threat. Police have received information that Jia is absconding. The probe team was not ready to fully believe Pujari's statement. It is suspected that Ravi Pujari was involved in the killing of two goons in Kerala.
