THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A recent report claimed that K Sudhakaran will be named as the new KPCC president. It is reported that only K Sudhakaran is in the final consideration of the high command. An announcement is likely to be made within two days. According to Tariq Anwar, the opposition leader and a majority of MPs and MLAs have supported Sudhakaran.

The report was handed over by Tariq Anwar to Sonia Gandhi. Mullappally Ramachandran's resignation following the Assembly election defeat has led to the election of a new president. Tariq Anwar was asked to prepare a list of eligible candidates in consultation with party leaders in the state.
