​​​​KAVARATTI: Despite ongoing protests on the new reforms in Lakshadweep, administrator Praful Koda Patel will reach Kavaratti on Monday. Praful Patel who will visit the island by today afternoon will conduct talks with department officials. He will evaluate the progress of various reform measures being implemented in the islands.

This is his third visit to Kavaratti, after becoming the island’s administrator. He will continue in Lakshadweep until June 20th. Meanwhile, the people of the islands are observing black day on Monday, in protest against the administrator’s visit.

The people are protesting against the administrator’s visit, by wearing black badges and by hoisting black flags in homes. Even though the office bearers of the ‘Save Lakshadweep’ forum have sought a nod to meet the administrator, they have not received permission until now.
