THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The documents proving that the ministers were aware of the controversial order that led to the illegal felling of trees, are out. The forest and revenue ministers met thrice to issue the order. Apart from the ministers, some top officials also participated in the discussions held after the all-party meet in 2018.

Revenue Minister K Rajan had earlier said the revenue department was not on the defensive in the controversial order and that the order issued for farmers had been misinterpreted. He had also stated that there are no differences of opinion between the forest and revenue departments on the issue.

Meantime, the high level police team investigating the Muttil tree felling will soon reach Wayanad. The officials will collect information from the forest department and the police. The government is of the assessment that the forest was looted under the cover of a controversial order from the revenue department.
