KOLLAM: A Dubai Malayali has come to help Kollam native Anand Kalyani to realise his dream. Sajith, a native of Thrissur, who is involved in a refinery business in Dubai, has offered financial assistance for the follow-up experiments of Anand's 'Trike'. Trike, developed by Anand, is an amazing vehicle that can run on the road, the sky as well as on water.
Kerala Kaumudi had published the news about Anand Kalyani on March 3 this year. After reading it, Sajith offered help. Anand's dream project was in limbo due to a financial crisis.
Anand had initially developed Trike in such a way that it becomes a helicopter when wings are mounted on the engine. When a fibre float is mounted on the same engine, it will become a water boat. After making some modifications to the earlier design, it can be now used as a glider as well. With this, the Trike can continuously take off from the water surface. It is also able to land on the water surface.
The trike can be used for rescue operations in disaster areas as well as for adventure sports. The design captivates the minds of travelers. According to Anand, this amazing vehicle, which can be built with different engine capacities, will cost around Rs 16-20 lakh. It can be built at a low cost with the help of the government.
Anand Kalyani holds a diploma in Marine Engineering and a degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering from the Regional Institute of Aviation. Though he got a job in Hindustan Aeronautics and Reliance, he resigned shortly to realise his dream.
