THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Guidelines have been issued for operating private bus services in the state. As per the guidelines, an odd-even scheme for private buses will come into effect from Friday. As per the order, private buses ending with odd numbers can operate tomorrow. Private buses ending with even numbers can operate on upcoming Monday (21-06-21), Wednesday and Friday. Buses ending with odd numbers can ply on Tuesday, Thursday, and Monday (28-06-21).

Bus service is not permitted on Saturdays and Sundays. It remains to be seen whether the proposal will be accepted by the private bus owners. Transport Minister Antony Raju said the situation was not conducive for all private buses to operate daily.
