NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women has intervened in the incident where sister Lucy Kalappurakkal was expelled from her congregation. The Commission has written to FCC Superior General Sister Ann Joseph seeking an explanation for the incident. A letter has also been sent to the Chief Secretary.

The National Commission for Women asked the state government to provide all possible support to Sister Lucy Kalappurakkal. The Franciscan Clarist Congregation had asked Sister Lucy to move out from the convent in May 2019.
