PERINTHALMANNA: Mohammad Thanzeel, a class 10 student of Mankada govt high school, is known for his artworks using leaves. He recently garnered attention by making pictures of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Kerala, using coconut leaves. These pictures have gone viral on social media.
Mohammad Thanzeel, a native of Mankada Melottukavu, was drawn to Leaf Art, due to his quest to do something different during the lockdown. He began doing artworks using jackfruit leaves and other leaves. Images of historical heroes and football players bloomed in the green of the leaves. The experiment was extended to coconut leaves a week ago.
After drawing the pictures on the coconut leaves using a marker, remove the surrounding area with a blade. The cellophane tape is pasted between the leaves to make it look like a canvas. Thanzeel is now preparing for more experiments on coconut leaves. He finds time for drawing during study breaks. He has been drawing since fourth class.
Thanzeel is awaiting his class 10 exam results. In addition to Plus two studies, he also wants to attend drawing courses. He is interested in pursuing higher studies in the field of architecture. His parents Abdul Muneer and Sufaira Baanu have provided him great support.
