Director Jude Anthany Joseph has suggested a name for the new variant of the Covid virus. Jude gave the new variant the name Covaphine. This was a sarcastic reaction at MC Josephine, chairperson of the Women's Commission.

Josephine made the controversial remarks during a phone-in event on a private channel yesterday. Lebina, a woman from Ernakulam, called her during the program. Lebina complained that her husband and mother-in-law were abusing her.

Josephine, who reacted harshly from the beginning to some technical issues with the phone call, later asked her if she had complained to the police. When Lebina informed her that she had not complained anywhere and had not told anyone, Josephine replied, "then suffer". Josephine later told Lebina that if she wants to, she could file a complaint with the commission, but she would have to go to family court with a good lawyer to get her dowry back.
