MALA: Mala native Anoop Kundoor, a mural painter, decided to build a treehouse in order to concentrate on his paintings during the lockdown. He thus went on to build a treehouse near the fields and was able to get rid of boredom by working in harmony with nature. The 26-year-old is now spending a lot of time in his treehouse to complete his works.

Anoop, who traditionally paints murals using only natural colours, has spent most of his time in this treehouse during this lockdown. After passing BFA and MFA from Kalady Sanskrit University, he got the opportunity for the Diamond Jubilee Fellowship. However, he was not able to complete it due to the pandemic.

Anoop passed MFA by taking up traditional mural painting using natural colours as the main subject. At the same time, he does not hesitate to make modern mural paintings for the needy. He has already done paintings in several temples and houses.

Anoop built the tree in the back yard of his house using bamboo, coconut leaves, and wood planks. He also received help and support from his friend. Thus, the treehouse became his workspace. As there is no electricity, he works till evening. The paintings painted here were later converted into murals.
