THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Education Minister V Sivankutty said that teachers and other staff in public schools should enroll their children in public schools. He was speaking after inaugurating the science lab and school website of Govt. Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.

He also said that online learning materials will be provided to all students in government schools in Kerala. The Minister today inaugurated the Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology labs, which were completed with funds sanctioned from the Special Development Fund of Vattiyoorkavu MLA Adv VK Prasanth.

The remaining Rs 4 lakh will be used to purchase computers for the computer lab. Smartphones provided by LIC Employees Cooperative Society and LIC employees were handed over to the school.

Mayor Arya Rajendran distributed the smartphones collected by the school as part of the 'No Digital Divide Campus' campaign. The website for the school was developed by Digital Edenz Solutions.

Advocate VK Prasanth MLA presided over the meeting. Education Standing Committee Chairperson Dr. KS Reena, School Principal Anitha Kumari and Headmistress Naseema Beevi were also present on the occasion.
