KOZHIKODE: Arjun Ayangi appeared at the Kochi Customs Preventive Office for interrogation in the gold smuggling case. Arjun arrived with his lawyers. The customs had earlier issued a notice asking him to appear for the interrogation.

The investigating officials hope to get crucial information from Arjun in the Karipur gold smuggling. He was hiding for the past few days. Arjun appeared before the customs along with his lawyer amid doubts whether he would appear for the interrogation.

The customs will be investigating things including for whom Arjun was smuggling the gold. The car he used to go to Karipur for the gold was found abandoned the other day. This car belongs to C Sajesh of Koyyod. The customs are likely to question him.

Mohammad Shafeeq, a native of Moorkkanad, was arrested at the Kozhikode airport on Monday morning with 2.33 kg of gold. The quotation team in Cherpulassery met with the accident when they were returning after following Arjun for a short distance. Arjun returned from the airport knowing that the gold had been seized by the customs.
