KOCHI: The customs said Arjun Ayangi is the main link in the gold smuggling. This was clarified in the remand report submitted in the court. The remand report mentioned that there are several digital evidences proving that Arjun reached Karipur for the gold smuggling.

Many youths are involved in the gold smuggling. It is a situation where many youths are being used to smuggle and steal the smuggled gold. The Maruti Swift car used by Arjun is his own. Sajesh is just Arjun’s benami, the customs said.

The car was bought in Sajesh’s name. Arjun appeared for the interrogation yesterday after destroying all his phone records. All information given to the customs at the time of taking his statement was fabricated. He is not cooperating with the probe. Arjun led a luxurious life. However, the remand report said it is not clear what his income was.
