THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has decided to extend the lockdown restrictions for another week as the test positivity rate (TPR) in the state has not come down as expected. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. There will be a triple lockdown in areas where the TPR is above 18%. The triple lockdown will be imposed on areas that come under the D category.
Covid tests will be conducted at railway stations and check posts. There are 165 local bodies in category A with less than 6% TPR, 473 in category B with six to 12 TPRs, 318 in category C, and 80 in category D which needs extreme attention.
