CHATHANNOOR: The police on Tuesday arrested Ratheesh, the husband of Chirakkarathaazham native Vijitha, in connection with her death. Vijitha was found hanging inside the bathroom of the house on Friday. Though Ratheesh and his relative had rushed her to the hospital, Vijitha was soon pronounced dead.

The police intensified the investigation after Vijitha's relatives alleged that she committed suicide due to constant harassment by her husband. The Women's Commission had also registered a case in the incident. Ratheesh, who went missing after the incident, was arrested from an area near the Kollam railway station at around 2 pm yesterday by the team led by Chathannoor ACP Y Nizamuddin.
