THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister P Rajeev said the industries department has not conducted any inspections in Kitex. Inspections were conducted by some other departments and the sector magistrate. The secretary, department of industries, has been entrusted to examine the complaints. The department secretary had also submitted a report in this regard. The minister said he had not received any other complaints in this regard.

The minister said the issues raised by Kitex will be considered seriously. High level inspections will be conducted in connection with other departments. Rajeev said the government gives full support to those who want to start and run business ventures as per the law.

Kitex has informed yesterday that they are withdrawing from Rs 3,500 crore new investment projects signed with the government in protest against continuous inspections. Kitex complained that the factory in Kizhakkambalam was inspected 11 times in the past one month. The official team who inspected did not find any irregularities or issue any notice. Sabu Jacob told media that the inspections were repeated for several days.
