KOTTAYAM: The CPM will take stern action on the complaint of Jose K Mani that the CPM workers themselves betrayed in many of the 12 seats contested by the Kerala Congress. The CPM has decided to appoint a two-member party commission to probe the complaint lodged by Jose in the Left Front.

The unexpected defeat in Pala and Kaduthuruthy, where the party had high hopes for victory, happened due to their betrayal. Local CPM activists and leaders did not cooperate much. In Central Kerala, wherever the CPM contested, the Kerala Congress votes were won by the party candidates. However, that cooperation was not obtained back. The commission has also decided to consider the clashes that took place in the Pala municipality days before the election.

Local leaders of the CPM themselves campaigned that the Kerala Congress candidate would lose in the Piravom seat. In Perumbavoor too, foes got the help of the leaders. The CPM's disciplinary action against K P Kunhammed Kutty MLA for protesting against giving Kuttiyadi seat to the Kerala Congress is an indication that the party is taking the issue seriously. The commission is likely to investigate Jose's complaints in all districts.
