KANNUR: The crime branch has filed a chargesheet in the Panoor Mansoor murder case. The chargesheet was filed in the Thalassery Judicial First Class Magistrate Court. All the nine accused are CPM and DYFI activists. Ratheesh, who was found dead, was removed from the list of accused in the chargesheet. The seventh accused, CPM local committee member Jabir, could not be traced, the probe team said in a chargesheet filed in court. According to the chargesheet, there was political animosity behind the murder. The probe team said that there are scientific evidence against the accused.
The case was investigated by Crime Branch DySP Vikraman. The remains of the explosive device were found in Mansoor's body. According to the chargesheet, the remains of the materials used in the manufacture of the explosives were found near the house of the accused.
