THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be 13 items in the special Onam kit provided by the government to all ration card holders of the state. Supplyco, which is in charge of Onam kit distribution, has informed the government that 13 items including sugar, coconut oil and vermicelli, woule be included. The Onam kit also includes chocolate as an Onam gift for children.

86 lakh ration card holders will get the kit. Supplyco has informed the government that the total expense would be Rs 600 core and each packet costs Rs 469.70.

The cabinet meet decided to provide a special kit in the morning. Following this, information about the items in Onam kit came out. The cabinet also decided to provide an insurance cover of Rs 7.5 lakh to ration dealers.
