THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM state committee has announced a probe following the allegations that there were lapses on the part of former minister G Sudhakaran in election campaigning at the Ambalappuzha constituency. The matter will be looked into by a commission comprising state secretariat members KJ Thomas and Elamaram Kareem.

Sudhakaran was sharply criticised during the two-day CPM state committee meet that took place on Friday and Saturday. Earlier, an election review report had pointed out severe lapses on the part of Sudhakaran in the election campaigning at Ambalappuzha. It must be noted that Sudhakaran was not able to contest the election due to the two-term policy of the CPM.

Sudhakaran did not attend the district committee meeting and the state committee meeting held to review the election. Defeats in Pala and Kalpetta constituencies will also be investigated. These inspections will be conducted at Wayanad and Kottayam district levels.
