KOZHIKODE: The traders are protesting against the frequent closure of shops in the name of Covid restrictions. The traders in Kozhikode are protesting demanding permission to open shops every day.

The attempt by traders to open shops in Mittai Theruvu led to minor clashes in the area. The police are arresting traders and removing them from the spot. A large contingent of police has been deployed in the area.

Minister A K Saseendran said Covid restrictions cannot be avoided and that an immediate action would be taken on the problems of the traders. T Siddique MLA also said the issue would be taken seriously. Meantime, police have informed to register a case against the traders protesting.
