THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will convene a review meeting today to assess the Covid situation in the state. The meeting will decide whether to change the method of restrictions following criticism over the scientificity of lockdown measures in the state.
The review meeting will be held at 3.30 pm. It is unlikely to announce more relaxations as the spread of the disease has not decreased. However, there won't be a complete lockdown on Sunday because of the Bakrid celebrations. Shops have been permitted to open for three days from tomorrow. Bakrid is on Wednesday. The government has given strict instructions to the police not to allow crowds.
Meanwhile, those who received two doses of the Covid vaccine no longer need an RT-PCR negative certificate in the state. The order will apply to all matters for which an RT-PCR certificate is currently mandatory. However, those with symptoms have been advised to carry RT-PCR certificate with them.
