NEW DELHI: The central government Thursday rejected the reports of Pegasus phone leak. The reports are totally baseless, said IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in the Rajya Sabha. A move to insult the Indian democracy is going on, he said.

It is no coincidence that the report was released just before the parliament session. He further added that the reports were fabricated. The opposition interrupted the minister's explanation in the Rajya Sabha.

Both houses of the parliament were embroiled in a controversy following the uprising over Pegasus and famers laws. When the Rajya Sabha was adjourned today following the commotion, the Lok Sabha has been suspended.

The opposition also protested against the central government's claim that no one in the country had died without oxygen in the second wave of Covid. Both the houses were suspended twice due to their opposition after trooping to the well of the house. However, when convened again, the protests continued. Following this, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day. When Congress and Akali Dal members raised the issue of farmers’ agitation and Covid crisis, Trinamool Congress members protested raising Pegasus issue.
