THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Busy discussions have started in the Congress ahead of the appointment of the new chairpersons of the District Congress Committees. KPCC President K Sudhakaran and Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan held discussions with various MLAs and members of the Political Affairs Committee yesterday. The leaders will also meet various MPs to discuss the matter. The discussion will continue today. The state leadership is planning to reach an agreement regarding the 14 DCC presidents by Saturday. The High Command is expected to make an official announcement by the middle of this month.

Soon after becoming the KPCC president, K Sudhakaran had announced that the first phase of reorganization would be completed by mid-July. Based on discussions with senior leaders, the Political Affairs Committee met and decided on the number and norms of KPCC office bearers. However, no significant discussions took place regarding the reorganization after that. The party leadership began discussions after several leaders experssed dissatisfaction over the delay in reorganization.
