NEW DELHI: The Central Government has made it clear that Tamil Nadu will not be bifurcated. The Union Home Ministry informed this in the Parliament today. The center made their stand clear in the wake of the escalating Kongu Nadu controversy.

The controversy escalated when campaigns appeared on social media in the name of the formation of Kongu Nadu after bifurcating Tamil Nadu. Protesters even set fire to newspapers that published such news. The main allegation of the people of Tamil Nadu was that bifurcation was the way for the BJP to come to power easily. Those from the film and cultural fields also came forward against the bifurcation.
