THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are expected to lash the state Sunday also. Yellow alert has been announced in nine districts. The alert is sounded in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kasaragod.

The National Oceanography Centre has forecast 2.5 to 3.3 meter high waves and tidal waves off the coast of Kerala till 11.30 pm tonight. Fishermen have been warned not to go to sea.
