THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran has lodged a complaint with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes regarding the Scheduled Caste Welfare Fund in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. In his complaint to the National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman Vijay Sampla, Surendran demanded that the SC welfare fund fraud should be investigated and social auditing should be done on the utilization of SC welfare funds in the state. The commission then registered a case on the complaint.

The commission asked the corporation authorities and the director of the social welfare department to provide an explanation within 15 days regarding the fund fraud. K Surendran and other leaders had gone to Delhi on July 28 and lodged a complaint with the chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.
