MAVELIKKARA: A man committed suicide after his wife hanged herself following a quarrel between the two. The deceased have been identified as Thazhakkara native Sheeba (45) and her husband Santhosh (51).

Sheeba was found hanging by around 1.30 am on Tuesday. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she was soon pronounced dead. After learning about her death, Santhosh went back to the house and committed suicide. Police said they suspect Santosh's alcoholism and subsequent domestic violence were the cause of the deaths. Santosh was a tile worker.
