TALIPARAMBA: TV Rameshan (56), an appraiser who went missing after a fake gold scam was uncovered at the Taliparamba branch of the Punjab National Bank, was found dead in a well. It is suspected that Rameshan committed suicide. The body was found last night in the well of an unoccupied house near Rameshan's house near the Trichambaram SNDP building. The decomposed body, which was taken out by the Taliparamba police with the help of the fire force, was shifted to the Medical College Hospital Mortuary.

The bank officials had initially lodged a complaint with the police alleging that Rs 75 lakh had been swindled from the bank by pledging fake gold. However, many people repaid the money to the bank after the incident came to light. According to unofficial information provided by the bank officials, about Rs 45 lakh has been swindled from the bank. Bank officials alleged that Rameshan had used his acquaintances and relatives to pledge fake gold.
