THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An amount of Rs 2.75 lakh have been lost from various ATMs of Kerala Bank. The money was taken using fake ATM cards of other banks. Following this, withdrawals from Kerala Bank's ATMs using other banks' ATM cards have been temporarily frozen. The scam was noticed in various parts of the state. It has been found that the money was stolen from ATMs in Thiruvananthapuram, Kasaragod and Kottayam. The money was withdrawn through an Uttar Pradesh bank account.

Money can be withdrawn with the ATMs of other banks using any bank card. Money will be withdrawn from the account of the bank to which the ATM belongs. In the evening the money will be credited to the bank account from the person who withdrew the money through the software of the Reserve Bank. However, the bank officials came to know about the fraud when the money did not reach by evening.

It is being examined whether it is the fault of the bank’s software. The Kerala Bank officials said the customers’ money has not been lost.

Rs 90,000 was lost in such a way from two ATMs in the capital city. Money was lost from the ATMs in East Fort and Nedumangad.
