THRISSUR: Disciplinary action against officials in Karuvannur Service Co-operative Bank fraud case. The apex committee informed that the irregularities in the bank have been brought to the notice of the department since 2014-15. In this case, those who worked in the audit and general departments at the time did not take action to prevent this and are therefore being suspended, the report said.
16 people including Mohanmohan P Joseph, Thrissur Joint Registrar, MD Raghu, Joint Director of Kerala Co-operative Bank in Palakkad and then Assistant Registrar in Thrissur, Kerala State Co-operative Union Secretary Glady John Puthoor and then Assistant Registrar were suspended. Apart from them, the government has decided to conduct a special inquiry and take disciplinary action against the retired officers.
