THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has changed the Covid norms in the state. The new norms are aimed at declaring even a small area a micro-container zone. In case of the spread of disease, a family of more than ten members will be considered as a micro-containment zone. An area will be declared a containment zone even if five out of 100 people test positive for the disease. The restrictions will last for 7 days. The new change is aimed at focusing at the micro-level instead of closing the entire ward.

At present, microcontainment zones are determined and restrictions are imposed on a ward basis. But the government's new order allows any small area, even a family, to be declared a micro-containment zone in case of the spread of the disease.
